China-constructed 129.4-kilometer highway in Mongolia opens to traffic
The completion and opening ceremony of a 129.4-kilometer highway starting from Mongolia's Bayankhongor was held on August 17.
Financed by The Export-Import Bank of China, constructed by Shanghai Construction Group (SCG), it will be a major artery connecting the eastern and western parts of Mongolia.
The project officially started its construction on May 10, 2017. Designed to build three bridges and 192 culverts along the highway, the project is of large engineering quantity while short construction period.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the revision of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between China and Mongolia. On the occasion of the anniversaries, the two countries have been intensifying their efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation.
