China-Europe train services see robust growth

A freight train linking Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei Province, and Hamburg, Germany's second biggest city, pulls out of the Wujiashan Center Station on April 16. The 50-carriage train is loaded with electronic parts and components, beverages, food and electromechanical products made by enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. 

This is the 36th train heading to Europe from Wuhan this year. 

China sent the first freight train to Europe in March 2011. So far, nearly 3,700 trains have departed from the country to Europe, opening a fast international transport channel by land. 

Currently, 27 Chinese cities operate 51 regular freight train service routes to 28 destinations in 11 countries in Europe, providing an effective guarantee for trade cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road routes.
