The joint venture of China Railway Group Limited's subsidiary corporation and Israeli partners succeeded in winning the bid for the west section of the tunnel-boring-machine (TBM) line of the Red Line light rail project in Tel Aviv in May 2015.

The west section consists of six underground stations, 10,560 meters' TBM railway and 17 cross aisles. The earth-pressure-balance shield tunneling machines used in the project are all manufactured in China. The installation, adjustment and operation of the machines are all completed by Chinese technicians. The concrete duct pieces used in the project are all produced under the technology guidance of the Chinese corporation. So far, the project is going well.
