With the submission of the first batch of basic wind turbine design information, Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC)-constructed wind power project in Ecuador officially entered the contract execution stage.

The wind power project with a total installed capacity of 50 MW in Ecuador is the first time that DEC has entered the South American energy market after the European and African markets. It is by far the largest wind turbine project exported by DEC to overseas market.

According to the contract, DEC will provide design, supply, transportation, installation, commissioning, trial operation and maintenance of 16 sets of  complete equipment such as fan and prefabricated substation.

DEC submitted the D3200-155 model plan specially designed for ultra-low wind speed wind farms in the project tender, and won the bid in the international tender beating several European competitors. Compared with other wind turbines of competing manufacturers, DEC can significantly increase the revenue of power generation and reduce the cost of operation and maintenance.
