China to provide 60 bln RMB assistance to developing countries participating in B&R
China will provide assistance worth 60 billion yuan (8.7 billion U.S. dollars) in the coming three years to developing countries and international organizations participating in the Belt and Road Initiative to improve people's well-being, President Xi Jinping said Sunday.
China will provide emergency food aid worth 2 billion yuan to developing countries along the Belt and Road and make an additional contribution of 1 billion U.S. dollars to the Assistance Fund for South-South Cooperation, Xi said at the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
China will launch 100 "happy home" projects, 100 poverty alleviation projects and 100 health care and rehabilitation projects in countries along the Belt and Road.
China will also provide relevant international organizations with 1 billion U.S. dollars to implement cooperation projects that will benefit the countries along the Belt and Road.
The Belt and Road Initiative aims at building a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along ancient trade routes.
