Good France, a worldwide campaign for French gastronomy, returns for its sixth edition this month. The French embassy in Beijing hosted an opening ceremony on Oct 8 to kick off the event in China.

Chef Philippe Groult, director of Ecole Le Cordorn Bleu, gave a presentation on French cuisine, especially food from the Loire River area.

The week-long event, held from Oct 14 to 22, will showcase French culinary heritage. French-style dinners will be held in the embassies and French restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao and other cities.

In order to strengthen its commitment to global environmental action, Good France 2021 will place sustainable gastronomy at its center.

Good France is organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Alain Ducasse. The sixth edition coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Gastronomic Meal of the French's addition to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
