C. China's Wuhan handles more China-Europe freight trains

Central China's Wuhan operated a total of 411 China-Europe freight trains in 2021, with the shipment volume increasing by 91 percent compared with that in 2020, reported People's Daily citing statistics from China Railway Wuhan Group.

In 2021, Wuhan saw its shipment value of China-Europe freight trains standing at 12.734 billion yuan, an increase of 78 percent on year, with total running mileage reaching 3.85 million kilometers.

It is learned China Railway Wuhan Group together with Wuhan Customs have improved the efficiency of customs clearance at the port through data exchange and information sharing. According to statistics, Wuhan's cargo trains have delivered a total of 9,770.86 tons of epidemic prevention materials such as masks, ventilators, surgical gowns to Germany, Poland, Hungary and other countries throughout the year 2021.

Besides, Wuhan has launched trial operation of rail-sea combined transportation and subsequent projects, which will form a linkage effect.
