BRUSSELS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of 40 artworks around the theme of the Chinese Year of the Tiger (2022), selected from the Global Zodiac Design Competition, was opened Tuesday at the China Cultural Center in Brussels.

The works feature themes of the 2022 Year of the Tiger and Spring Festival customs, as well as other creative designs, such as depictions of Beijing's Old Summer Palace, also known as Yuanmingyuan Park.

The 30-odd guests attending the opening ceremony included Bernard Dewit, president of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

"The Zodiac exhibition is very interesting. It includes works by mature artists and young artists," Dewit said. "It combines traditional culture with modern techniques... I hope the Cultural Center will hold more events like this."

According to Ge Yiyou, director of the China Cultural Center, such exhibitions help foster cultural exchanges between China and Europe.

The center also plans to exhibit other outstanding works from the Belgian Year of the Tiger Zodiac Design Competition.

The exhibition will be open until June.
