Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has run 160 China-Europe freight trains in March of this year, exceeding the level of the same period of last year, according to local authorities on Wednesday.

In March, the average delivery time for customers of Chongqing China-Europe freight trains was shortened by 15 percent, and the average transport time was shortened by 3-4 days.

Besides, the coverage of Chongqing China-Europe freight trains was further expanded. The first Russia-Suifenhe-Xiaonanya return train was launched, making Xiaonanya station in Jiangjin District the third arrival and departure station of Chongqing. The Chongqing-Laos-Thailand railway round-trip service was opened, with the traffic volume of the Southeast Asia route increasing by about 150 percent year on year.

Moreover, the goods categories are becoming more abundant. Up to now, the Chongqing China-Europe freight trains have transported over 26 million international parcels with a value of nearly 2 billion yuan, taking a leading position in terms of total transportation amount nationwide.
