Value of goods handled by GBA China-Europe freight train increases by 31.5 pct in Q1 at Shenzhen

In the first quarter this year, a total of 30 international freight trains, with a given uniform code of GBA, were launched in Shenzhen, a high-tech city in south China's Guangdong province. Among these trains, 26 GBA China-Europe freight trains were put under operation, with a total cargo weight of 13,443 tons and combined value of 730 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 23.8 percent, 13.7 percent, 31.5 percent respectively, according to statistics of Shenzhen Customs. 

GBA stands for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

It is learned that the main commodities carried by the GBA China-Europe freight trains are home appliances, daily necessities, etc..

A source with Shenzhen Customs said that the local customs authorities have adopted multimodal transport mode such as sea-rail, land-rail combined transport and other modes linked by railway transport, and continued to expand the market scale of the GBA China-Europe freight train.

China-Europe freight train is welcomed by more companies and enterprises due to its reliability and economic benefits. While strengthening the supervision of goods on trains, Shenzhen Customs has further simplified and optimized the customs clearance process so as to ensure the efficiency of GBA China-Europe freight trains.
