A new China-Vietnam freight train carrying traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the first of its kind, was launched Thursday in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, reported Chinanews.com.

The train, carrying about 180 tonnes of TCM materials, will run on a regular basis to deepen the comprehensive cooperation between China and Vietnam in TCM industry.

As one of the provinces with the richest TCM resources in China, Guangxi has formed a pattern of opening-up and cooperation in TCM industry with products exporting to more than 40 countries and regions.

In the future, Guangxi will continue to build the national TCM export base and explore the combined development of Internet+TCM trade, knocking into shape of a China-ASEAN TCM trade channel.
