Guangzhou China-Europe freight train continues steady operations in April

Statistics from Guangzhou Customs showed that from January to April this year, 65 Guangzhou China-Europe freight train trips were operated, transporting 6,044 containers, up 54.76 percent and 43.97 percent year on year respectively, reported Nanfang Daily.

Starting from the second quarter, the operation frequency of Guangzhou China-Europe freight trains has climbed significantly. In mid-April, it has set a new daily high of four trains handled in one day. Besides, in single April, Guangzhou has launched 28 export cargo trains, shipping 2,486 TEUs of goods, valuing 539 million yuan, an increase of 86.67 percent, 65.75 percent and 52.26 percent year-on-year respectively, said a staff of Guangzhou Railway Station customs supervision department.

The China-Europe freight train has become a normalized logistics method for our export to Europe, said a relevant person in charge from Midea Kitchen Appliances Manufacturing Co.,Ltd., adding that compared with sea freight, China-Europe freight trains save more than half of the transportation time, and have advantages in cost control, transportation safety, and supply chain assurance.

As of now, the frequency of Guangzhou China-Europe freight trains have increased from 1-2 trains per month to a maximum of 4 trains per day, connecting 30 countries and regions in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.
