Over 2,000 China-Europe freight trains pass Alashankou port since year beginning

As of 18:00 May 7, Alashankou port saw a total of 2,014 China-Europe freight trains operation since the start of this year, with a total freight volume of 1.625 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 7.6 percent, reported People.cn.

Specifically, statistics from Alashankou Railway Station showed, during the period Alashankou port has handled 857 inbound trains and 1,157 outbound trains, with an average daily operation of 16 China-Europe freight trains, and a maximum of 24 cargo trips launched in one single day. The China-Europe freight trains carry more than 200 types of goods in 8 categories, including automobiles and accessories, cotton yarn, and electronic products.

Starting from this year, in order to ensure the smooth running of China-Europe freight trains, relevant departments have strengthened cooperation and implemented various facilitation measures such as green channel and paperless declaration, as well as setting up a special window for China-Europe freight trains customs clearance.

Currently, Alashankou port has handled 24,000 China-Europe trains in total and launched 78 freight routes, connecting 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities at home and 18 countries abroad, including Germany, Poland, and Russia.
