The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a trade and logistics passage jointly built by western Chinese provincial regions and Singapore, launched a new transport route linking Russia and south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Carrying 25 containers of made-in-Russia daily necessities worth more than 4 million yuan, the route's first freight train from Russia stopped at southwest China's Chongqing and left the municipality on Monday for the final destination of Guangxi.

The new Russia-Chongqing-Guangxi freight service is estimated to take about 18 days, cutting the logistics time by 15 to 20 days compared with the traditional way of sea transport.
