Two China International Import Expo (CIIE) promotional events which were aimed at the Beijing/Tianjin region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were held successfully on July 1 and 7 respectively.
Sheng Qiuping, vice-minister of commerce, said at the roadshow that over the past five years, CIIE's global influence has increased significantly, becoming a window to build a new development pattern, a carrier of high-level opening-up, as well as a multilateralism stage.
The CIIE should be used to its full potential to offer global companies more market opportunities and help them strengthen cooperation with Chinese partners and achieve win-win deals, said Sheng.
According to Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, preparations for the expo are progressing smoothly, and the event will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
Nearly 80 percent of the planned business exhibition space has been reserved and more than 260 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders will be in attendance at the expo, Sun added.
