Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, has launched its first China-Europe freight train route.

FUZHOU, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, has launched its first China-Europe freight train route.

A cargo train named "Mindu" departed from Jiangyin Port in Fuzhou on Friday heading for Russia's capital Moscow.

It's loaded with goods weighing 455 tonnes and worth 1.8 million U.S. dollars.

The 9,900-km-long rail journey is expected to take 16 days, nearly 20 days less than shipping by sea.
