ABUJA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said on Friday that the role of China in reversing Nigeria's infrastructure deficit will not be forgotten.

Femi Adesina, who serves as Buhari's special adviser on media and publicity, said in a meeting with Cui Jianchun, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, that China has continued to sustain its role in the West African nation's infrastructure development in several areas, including power, rail, and aviation, among others.

The meeting, held in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, reviewed some of the progress made so far between China and Nigeria over the past years and discussed the prospects of deepening bilateral relations.

China has been vigorously promoting the construction of key projects in Nigeria so as to help the country accelerate industrialization and improve its independent development capabilities.
