China-Europe freight train from Turkmenistan arrives in NW. China's Xi'an, bringing liquorice raw materials

A China-Europe freight train departing from Turkmenistan arrived in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Wednesday, bringing 42 containers of raw materials of liquorice, a kind of Chinese medicinal herb.

This is the first China-Europe freight train carrying liquorice raw materials from Turkmenistan to China, blazing a new trial for promoting win-win cooperation in the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry between China and countries involving in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The cargo weighing 850 tonnes traveled 7,562 kilometers and arrived at its destination in 24 days using sea-rail transport.
