Chinese Geely's EV best-selling in Israel in Aug.

JERUSALEM, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Geometry C electric car produced by China's automaker Geely Auto Group became the best-selling vehicle model in Israel in August, according to figures released by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association (I-via) on Sunday.

This is the first time that an electric car leads the monthly list of all vehicle models sold in Israel, according to I-via data.

The Geometry C compact crossover electric model, which has been sold in Israel since January this year, saw 1,000 cars sold in August, ahead of the fuel-powered model Kia Seltos, of which 843 cars were sold in August.

Next on the list are the Kia Picanto and Hyundai Tucson models, with sales of 709 cars each last month, according to the data.

Geely also sold the most electric cars in Israel in 2022 so far, with 3,732 Geometry C models sold in January-August, ahead of Tesla's Model 3, which sold 1,949 cars in these months, the data showed.
