The 132nd session of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened online on October 15 with over three million Chinese products on display, China News Service reports.

More than 35,000 domestic and overseas companies participated in the event and have submitted over 3.06 million exhibits. Among them, there were over 130,000 smart products, over 500,000 green and low-carbon commodities, and over 260,000 products with independent intellectual property rights.

Dongguan City in south China's Guangdong Province, known as the “world factory”, has promoted industrial transformation and upgrading to enhance the competitive advantage of export products in recent years. A total of 208 enterprises from Dongguan made appearance in the event to actively expand the market at home and abroad, showed statistics from Bureau of Commerce of Dongguan City.

At the event, Dongguan Oufeiya leather goods company showcased a total of about 60 products in three series of computer bags, backpacks and handbags on the online platform, of which more than 40 percent were new products, head of the company said.

China First Pencil Co. Ltd. also displayed its newly developed hand-painted marker in a bid to cope with the increasingly fierce market competition.

It is noted that a total of 748 enterprises from Shanghai participated in this year's Canton Fairs, among which 15 companies have declared 45 exhibits with highlights such as new materials and technologies.

From October 15 to 18, organizers held 200 activities for new product releases centering on seven themes such as electric home appliances, building materials and industrial manufacturing to demonstrate the charm of Chinese products to global customers.
