The signing ceremony for the project was held on October 24 in Wuzhong District. Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of Italy Alessandra Palumbo, local officials and executives from FuturaSun participated in the ceremony.

Suzhou and Italy have a long history of friendship, and Venice is the first overseas city of friendship and exchange that Suzhou has concluded, for 42 years now, said Zhang Huaqian, member of the standing committee of the CPC Wuzhong District Committee.

With the settlement of the China headquarters in Wuzhong, FuturaSun, the only Italian photovoltaic company investing in China, will help the district further strengthen the development foundation of its new energy industry and enhance its green development momentum, added Zhang, noting that the district will strive to create a sound business environment for the win-win cooperation.

Alessandra Palumbo said that the friendship between the two peoples of China and Italy is the basis for the good economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The settlement of the Chinese headquarters of FuturaSun in Wuzhong represents a further expansion of Italian enterprises in the Chinese market and highlights the important connotation of the cooperation between Italy and China to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, she added.

Alessandro Barin, CEO and co-founder of FuturaSun, said in his video message that Italy is one of the first countries to start developing the photovoltaic industry, and FuturaSun has been focusing on the field for 15 years. Wuzhong District boasts an ecologically-pleasant urban environment, efficient and convenient application scenarios, and an open and inclusive cultural environment that will help FuturaSun's photovoltaic business reach new heights, he added.

Founded in 2008, FuturaSun focuses on R&D, manufacturing and sales of solar crystalline silicon cells and photovoltaic modules, and it has world-class cell and module technology reserves. Relying on independent innovation, it has built a global sales landscape, with products covering more than 70 countries and regions in Europe, South America, the Middle East and  Africa.
