Chinese consumer finance firm Ant Group's Alipay+ has over 2.5 mln merchant users globally

Alipay+, a set of global cross-border digital payment and marketing solutions launched by the Chinese consumer finance firm of Ant Group, has been used by 2.5 million merchants globally, according to data released by Ant Group at the Singapore Fintech Festival on Thursday.

Global merchants can access to 15 payment methods through Alipay+ platform to reach more than one billion consumers all over the world and unlock their consumption potential.

Over the past six months, the number of Alipay+'s overseas merchant users surged 150 percent.

By sectors, global merchants using Alipay+ include over 1,000 online platforms, more than 10 international airports, over 90,000 convenience stores, over 360,000 restaurants, nearly 200,000 taxis and major hotel brands, department stores, and duty-free shops in Asia and Europe.
