BYD partners with Chilean car dealership to further exploit Chilean market

BYD, China's leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, announced recently its strategic alliance with ASTARA, a car dealership in Chile, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Sunday.

According to the announcement, ASTARA will distribute BYD's electric passenger vehicles in Chile since the first quarter of 2023.

The move marks another important milestone for BYD in exploiting the Chilean market since the launch of electric buses in Chile five years ago.

At the same time, BYD officially introduced its Han pure electric vehicle and Tang electric SUVs to the Chilean market.

BYD senior vice president Li Ke noted that currently, there are as much as 455 BYD pure electric buses and about 50 BYD pure electric cabs in operation in Chile.
