Belarus to deepen cooperation with Wuxi

Wang Quan, mayor of Wuxi, Jiangsu province met with a delegation from the city of Bobruisk, Belarus on Sept 27.

The visit was significant for strengthening the two cities' friendship and deepening their mutually beneficial cooperation on industry, the economy, environmental protection, culture and education.

Wang welcomed the guests on behalf of Wuxi and said: "Belarus is a key link in the Belt and Road Initiative. Bobruisk has the potential to develop foreign trade as an important transportation hub and industrial center in Belarus. Wuxi is a core city in Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone to develop industry, commerce and an open economy."

He added: "Our two economies are highly complementary, and economic and trade cooperation between our two cities has great potential and a bright future. It's a great opportunity for Wuxi to cooperate with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and develop investment projects abroad."

Bobruisk Mayor Alexander Markachev visited various enterprises in Wuxi, as well as Wuxi New District Exhibition Center, and expressed his admiration for Wuxi's industrial development.

"We hope to develop our cooperation on industry, medical treatment, culture and education with Wuxi. Bobruisk will provide quality services and a suitable environment for Wuxi enterprises to invest and develop there," he said.
