PowerChina Loc Ninh cluster project wins Asian Power Awards

Constructed by PowerChina Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited, the Vietnam Loc Ninh 500 MW Solar Power Plant cluster has won the 2022 Best Solar Power Project Award by Asian Power magazine, reported China Infrastructure News.

The Vietnam Loc Ninh 500 MW Solar Power Plant project is the largest single photovoltaic power project in Southeast Asia so far, with a total installed capacity of 550 MW.

The project was contracted on May 28, 2020. It was started construction on June 10, and was commercially operational on December 26 in the same year. 

During the construction period, the project team has purchased electrical secondary equipment, wires and cables and other equipment and materials locally, and trained more than 1,000 operation and maintenance and installation personnel, providing jobs for more than 5,000 people.

The Asian Power Awards is the most prestigious award for the energy industry in Asia, organised by Asian Power magazine for 18 years. Each year, breakthrough projects and pioneering initiatives in the Asian power industry are selected, and outstanding enterprises that advocate technological innovation, sustainable development and social responsibility are recognized.
