Suzano sets up its Asia's first R&D center in Shanghai

Suzano, one of the world's largest commercial pulp producers, has set up its China Innovability Hub in Shanghai Tuesday. It is also the Brazil-based company's first R&D and innovation center in Asia.

At the inauguration ceremony, Suzano was also awarded the Group Open Innovation (GOI) by the People's Government of Shanghai Pudong New Area, and signed strategic cooperation agreements on bio-based material research and development with a number of research institutions and universities in China, and jointly launched sustainable development projects with local customers and suppliers in China, according to Chinanews.com. 

In addition, Suzano has launched a program, which will provide financial and resource support to Chinese start-ups to jointly promote the development of the bioeconomy in China.

In the same day, Suzano invited start-ups in the field of bioeconomy in China and carried out a competition to select qualified start-ups enterprises for future incubation.
