CHENGDU, April 6 (Xinhua) -- A water-releasing ceremony was held on Tomb-Sweeping Day, also known as Qingming Festival, to commemorate the originators of Dujiangyan, the world's oldest functioning irrigation project.

"This is amazing. This is like a dream coming true. It's something that has been happening for 2,000 years and you managed to recreate it. So, I am very happy to be part of all this. I very much appreciate that you try to keep these traditions and these cultures alive. It is the same way in Malta. It's important for children to grow up and learn about these things, what happened in the past," said John Busuttil, Maltese Ambassador to China when attending the event.

Carlos Larrea, Ecuadorian Ambassador to China, wowed Chinese culture and said that "It's a really amazing experience that we share with all of the Chinese citizens here. It's different, powerful, historical and cultural. Powerful, really."
