Global logistics giant Maersk launches Hangzhou-Billund new air cargo route

A Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by Maersk Air Cargo, the cargo airline of global integrated logistics giant A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk), on Thursday departed from Hangzhou in east China's Zhejiang Province for Billund in Denmark, marking the launch of the first air cargo route between Hangzhou and Demark, reported Chinanews.com.

Cargo on board were 23 tonnes of small home appliances, automotive parts, and other goods. After arriving in Billund, they will be distributed across the Europe.

The new Hangzhou-Billund round-trip air route operates three flights per week, with a plan to further increase the number of flights in the third quarter.

Maersk Air Cargo also commenced a new air freight route on Tuesday that runs two weekly flights between Hangzhou and Chicago.

The moves made Hangzhou become the transport hub with Maersk's greatest input of shipping capacity in China.
