GLOBALink | Argentinian airport operator expects influx of Chinese tourists
BUENOS AIRES, May 7 (Xinhua) -- CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, an airport operator in the South American country, has said that he expects the arrival of more Chinese tourists.
The new departures terminal at the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, which is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, has been put into use since April 17.
The new 50,000-square-meter complex has the capacity to process 30 million passengers per year.
China relaxed travel restrictions earlier this year and resumed group tours to up to 60 countries including Argentina.
Argentinian tourism is an important sector of the economy, representing about 10 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) before the COVID-19 pandemic, while in 2022 it had a frank recovery and accounted for seven percent of the GDP.
