Talk with Ambassadors | BRI contributes enormously to China-South Africa relationship, South African Ambassador to China
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a very important project, and it has contributed enormously in terms of China-South Africa relationship, said Siyabonga C. Cwele, South African Ambassador to China.
"The Belt and Road Initiative is the win-win situation for us. And we are very grateful that our leaders signed this MoU (on BRI cooperation)," said the Ambassador.
January 1, 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Africa. Over the past 25 years, China and South Africa have been deepening the relationship.
China and South Africa have witnessed increasingly closer bilateral ties, advancing from just partnership to a strategic partnership, and now to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the Ambassador said at an interview with the Belt and Road Portal.
"We've got more than 180 significant or prominent Chinese companies who are now present in South Africa doing business," said the Ambassador, adding that South Africa also sincerely invites Chinese companies to come to South Africa and seize these great investment opportunities.
