Xin Baoan attends and delivers speech at CEPSI 2021

The three-week 23rd Conference of the Electricity Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) closed on November 25. Xin Baoan, Executive Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China and President of China Electricity Council, attended the Conference online and delivered a speech. At the meeting, Xin Baoan officially began his term of office as President of the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) from 2022 to 2023.

Xin Baoan thanked the host, the Manila Electric Company, for its efforts in the preparation and organization of the session. He pointed out that the Asia-Pacific region has neighboring mountains and rivers, converging cultures and people-to-people bonds. As a communication and cooperation platform jointly built by all parties, AESIEAP has been committed to promoting exchanges in the energy and power sectors in the region, and will play an even greater role in the future.

Xin Baoan said that as the region with the strongest momentum of growth in energy production and consumption in the world, the Asia-Pacific region is well ahead of other regions in terms of installed capacity and electricity generation. It is also the main market to develop the energy and power sectors in the future. Together with other counterparts, Chinese electric power enterprises stand ready to enhance exchanges, share experience, foster pragmatic and win-win cooperation for new paths of energy transition and a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, thus contributing to the sustainability of the global power industry and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Xin Baoan said that "True friendship brings people close even far apart they may be". As the host of the next session, China Electricity Council, while upholding the purpose of the AESIEAP and the mission of fostering regional cooperation, will work with other Chinese electric power enterprises for the organization and preparation of the events. He looks forward to the convening when all members of the AESIEAP gather in China for the AESIEAP CEO Conference 2022 and the CEPSI 2023.

The AESIEAP was established in 1975. The biennial CEPSI is the most important brand event of AESIEAP and one of the most influential international conferences in the energy and power industry in the Asia-Pacific. Themed on "Energizing Countries and Empowering Communities", this year's CEPSI hosted such events as special conference day, online exhibition, VR-based visits, and cultural exhibitions.

In addition, many technical papers submitted by the State Grid for the event were accepted and recommended, showcasing State Grid's research and practical achievements in promoting the development of new energy and facilitating the digital transformation of the power grid.
