Guizhou BeiDou Big Data Disaster Prevention Application Innovation Center established

Recently the Guizhou BeiDou Big Data Disaster Prevention Application Innovation Center has been established in Guiyang.

Upon approval by the Big Data Development Administration of Guizhou Province, the center was established by Medo On Cloud (Guizhou) Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture under Guizhou-Cloud Big Data Group in association with 15 universities, enterprises and institutions, including the National Engineering Research Center for Geographic Information System (China University of Geosciences), the Engineering Research Center for Environmental Geotechnics (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) and the Guizhou Survey & Design Research Institute for Water Resources and Hydropower. It aims to advance the innovative application of BeiDou big data disaster prevention and reduction products and services in major industries and fields such as emergency management, transportation, urban infrastructure, construction safety, agriculture, forestry and water conservancy, land and resources, environmental protection, forest fire, geological prospecting, mine production and emergency rescue.

After its establishment, the center will be committed to the construction and research of "BeiDou + IoT intelligent sensing + big data analysis and application", focus on the needs of major industries in Guizhou's economic and social development for disaster prevention, reduction and relief, and exert the technical advantage of the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System in positioning, timing and messaging, advance application innovation, standard innovation, and achievement transformation and large-scale application, thus becoming a carrier and platform of R&D, industrial incubation, technical service and talent training for Guizhou's BeiDou big data disaster prevention application innovation.
