Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Chinese companies have made great progress on numerous infrastructural projects in Serbia and more are expected to come based on the good relations between the two countries. He made this statement during his visit to the construction site of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) near the city of Obrenovac on Aug. 22.

Vucic toured the construction works of E763 on a bridge across the Sava and Kolubara rivers together with the Chinese ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang and other officials. The bridge is a part of a 17.6-kilometre long highway segment, Surcin-Obrenovac, which CCCC began constructing in March this year.

Vucic praised the importance of CCCC's planning for the entirety of the new E763 highway project, announcing that after the segment is completed the vast area around it will become attractive industrial land.

China's Cosco Shipping now owns 67 percent of the Piraeus Port's stock rights, and has the management rights of passengers and container ships.

It takes over 20 days for large cargo ships to reach the port from Shanghai. Since 2012, freights from China have arrived in the port in large numbers with goods destined for Greece and other parts of Europe. Between 2011 and 2016, the volume of cargo handled by the port has increased four-fold. Experts say China's strategy is to turn the Piraeus Port into a regional logistics center and a gateway to other European countries.
