China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China) is a central enterprise supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It is one of the Fortune Global 500 companies, ranks 3rd in ENR Top 150 Global Engineering Design Firms and 13th in ENR Top 250 Global Contractors. On December 10, 2015, its H-shares were listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (code: 3996.HK). 2014
On July 18, 2014, Energy China signed the financing agreement on NK/JC hydropower project in Argentina, which is so far the largest overseas hydropower project contracted by Chinese enterprise.
2016
On October 14, 2016, the construction of Payala 1,320MW Coal-fired Power Plant under EPC of Energy China kicked off in Bangladesh.
2018
In 2018, Energy China initiated the founding of International Investment Alliance for Renewable Energy.
2019
On November 11, 2019, Energy China signed the cooperation agreement on MINOS 50MW solar power project in Greece.
2020
In November 2020, Song Hailiang, chairman of Energy China was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the third China International Import Expo and witnessed the contract signing between Energy China and Siemens Energy.
2021
On September 29, 2021, China Energy Engineering Group International Co., Ltd. was inaugurated in Beijing. It marked an important step forward for Energy China to fully deepen the reform of the overseas business system, thoroughly implement the BRI and build a world-class corporation with high-quality development and global competitiveness.

NK/JC Hydropower Project in Argentina

The NK/JC Hydropower Project in Argentina has a total installed capacity of 1,310 MW, a contractual amount of 5.56 billion U.S. dollars (about 33.7 billion yuan) and a construction period of 97.3 months. Its construction kicked off on February 15, 2015 and the loan agreement was signed on July 18, 2014. The project is now progressing smoothly. In the peak stage of construction, it creates over 5,000 jobs directly and 15,000 jobs indirectly. After completion, it will generate 4,950 GWh per annum that meets the electricity use of 1.5 million families in Argentina and can be exported to neighboring countries, saving more than 1 billion U.S. dollars of oil and gas import expenses.
